Welcome to Council #14880
Welcome to the Council 14880 of the Knights of Columbus for St. Catharine of Siena and St. Mary’s parish.
Founded on the principles of charity, unity and fraternity, the Knights of Columbus was established in 1882 by Father Michael J. McGivney, assistant pastor of St. Mary's Church in New Haven, Conn., and a group of parishioners. Their intent? To bring financial aid and assistance to the sick, disabled and needy members and their families.
Our goal is to help men, their families and their parishes grow closer to Christ. Through our programs and resources, we provide opportunities to live and spread the Catholic faith. We share a commitment to our families, community, our church, and our faith. You will see our members serving as Eucharistic ministers, lectors, ushers, choir members and priests.
Today, our Knights of Columbus council provide meals for the needy through Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter food boxes, support of Helping Harvest food bank and Kennedy House Soup Kitchen. Annually they provide winter coats to those in need at SCS through their Coats for Kids program.
We support Lifeline, John Paul Center, Saint Catharine’s School, Mary’s Shelter and our parish, through assistance with parish events and financial support. Our council meets primarily at the Saint Catherine's Church building on the first and third Thursday's of each month at 7pm ET. We invite any practicing Catholic gentlemen to consider joining our Council.
Vivat Jesus!
